THE 5 STAR FABRICS OF WINTER AND HOW TO CARE FOR THEM
With the arrival of cold weather: how to care for your winter fabrics so they last longer
Now that we are saying goodbye to summer and temperatures are beginning to drop, it is time to prepare our wardrobes for the coldest season of the year. At Ravial, we know that winter fabrics should not only keep us warm, but also deserve special attention to ensure they remain in good condition. That's why we're giving you some basic tips on how to care for the most common winter fabrics and extend their life for many seasons.
1. Leather / Faux leather:

Both materials provide structure and style, but they can deteriorate if not cared for properly.
• Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
• Avoid excessive wetting and do not use abrasive products.
• For natural skin, apply special moisturising cream from time to time.
• Store on wide hangers with fabric covers, away from direct sunlight or heat.
2. Long or short hair fabrics:

Whether synthetic or natural, these garments provide warmth and texture. However, friction, dust, or improper washing can easily damage them.
• Shake and brush dry regularly with a soft bristle brush.
• Wash them as little as possible, by hand or on delicate programmes.
• Dry them flat in the air, without using a tumble dryer or iron.
• Store in spacious areas, without crushing.
3. Ante / Suede:

This soft, velvety fabric requires delicate handling, as it is sensitive to moisture and stains.
• Do not wash or immerse: dry clean or clean with a soft brush.
• Use specific spray products to protect against water and stains.
• Avoid folding; ideally, hang on shaped hangers.
4. Baguilla:
Baguilla is a sturdy, somewhat stiff fabric that is often used in structured garments (such as coats or jackets).
• Always wash inside out and preferably dry clean or use delicate cycles.
• Avoid vigorous spinning, as this may damage its shape.
• Iron at a low temperature with a cloth between the fabric and the iron.• Iron at a low temperature with a cloth between the fabric and the iron.

5. Cloth:
This thick, warm fabric (widely used in coats) is hard-wearing, but it can become matted or misshapen if not treated with care.
• Air out garments after each use, without needing to wash them frequently.
• Dry clean or wash on a special wool cycle.
• Store on wide hangers and use covers to prevent dust and moths.

Take care, preserve and reuse
Investing time in caring for fabrics is also a way of caring for your clothes and the planet. By following these steps, your garments will retain their shape, texture and colour for much longer, so that every winter they will keep you as warm as they did on the first day.
