Trends Spring/Summer 2021

We start by analysing which colours will be the big winners this season. In addition to grey and yellow, shades that Pantone decreed as the colours of the year, we discover:

Pink, Pastel Pink and Fuchsia

This colour associated with femininity will be the protagonist fortwo-piece ensembles and cocktail dresses. Also in men's fashion, looking for that so called "new masculinity".

The colours that will be trendy. GQ Magazine

It comes in all its versions, although fuchsia, its most striking facet, and pastel pink stand out..

New ECOVERO fabric

As we told you a few days ago, at Ravial we have introduced a new line of sustainable fabrics: RAVIAL ECO..

Our first fabric presented was ECO-BAIKALa lightweight recycled polyester crepe fabric.

On this occasion, today we introduce ECO-BEAR.An ECOVERO viscose fabric, crepe marocain type.

What does ECOVERO mean?

This is an ecologically responsible viscose. A product obtained from certified renewable sources of wood, which guarantees the traceability of the cellulose process. It also ensures low water consumption in its production. You can find more information here..

The importance of the ECOVERO Certificate

La Viscose is one of the most widely used prime materials in recent times, thanks to its softness and the ease with which it can be blended with other fibres. Its lightness, soft touch and versatility have made it a highly attractive fabric, although with implications for the environment.

Traditional viscose has sometimes been seen as an environmentally friendly option, as it is a vegetable fibre and biodegradable. However, most of the time it also involves the use of toxic chemicals such as carbon disulphide, sodium hydroxide and sulphuric acid. Moreover, because it is made from cellulose, it usually also leads to deforestation and forest degradation..

Thanks to this ECOVERO certificate, we can ensure more eco-friendly and sustainable viscose eco-friendly y sostenibles for our planet.

Benefits of ECOVERO Viscose

  • Up to 50% less emissions and impact on water resources compared to generic viscose.
  • ECOVERO fibres are obtained using cellulose, which is derived from renewable wood resources as prime material. FSC® (C041246) and PEFC™ certifications prove that the material is extracted from sustainable sources.
  • Certification of environmental responsibility. With the EU Ecolabel.
  • Transparency in the supply chain: ECOVERO viscose fibres can be identified in the final product, even after lengthy processing and conversions through the value chain.

Printed ECOVERO Viscose

As a viscose fibre, it can also be printed. This is why we have developed new, youthful and urban designs::

ECO-BEAR Model, de viscosa ECOVERO.

Please note that this product is not printed on Ravial, so delivery time may vary.

New RAVIAL ECO Collection

Times are changing and we are changing with them! That is why we are incorporating a new line of recycled polyester: ECO-BAIKAL.

In 2012, Greenpeace published its report "TOXIC STRIPS: THE STREET OF POLLUTION" in which it explained how the textile factories that supply the world's major fashion brands hide the toxic trail of their manufacturing processes. The conclusion is simple: fashion, like many other aspects of consumer society, is not sustainable at the current rate..

Recycled polyester fabric

New lightweight, printed crepe fabric

But...

What is recycled polyester?

Recycled polyester is made from recycled materials: PET and polyester fabrics. By choosing recycled polyester fabrics, we achieve the same result as with traditional polyester fibres, but with a smaller environmental footprint.

There is no difference between the two fibres: both classic and recycled polyester can be handled and printed in the same way. The only difference is the environmental impact:

  • Recycled polyester reduces the demand for oil extraction and consequently the ecological impact.
  • The production of recycled polyester creates 75% less CO2 emissions than virgin polyester, which is better for the climate.
  • Polyester already created is reused, giving it a new post-consumer and post-industrial life.

How do I know that a fabric is Recycled Polyester?

To know if a fabric is Recycled Polyester, we must make sure that it has the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). [GRS] en inglés).

This is an international certification that guarantees and assures the recycled content of a product, whether it is a finished product or an intermediate product, such as a yarn for the manufacture of fabric.

Printed Recycled Polyester

Being able to undergo the usual polyester treatment, this fabric can also be printed.

We offer you our entire catalogue of prints, although for this new line, we have developed new youthful and urban designs::
