Although gingham has always been a recurring pattern, check paint is reclaiming its space in this actual summer 2020 trends.

Check pattern has always been associated with colder outfits, outfits such as jackets and suits. However, this summer 2020 check pattern is mixed with warm colors, to change that perception.

We read in La Vanguardia (link in Spanish) great news:

WHO recommends widespread use of cloth masks if there is no social distance.

The recommended masks for the general public are cloth, which must meet certain conditions to truly represent protection for the wearer.

According to the article, «The masks recommended for the general public are cloth ones, which must meet certain conditions so that they really represent protection for the wearer and for the rest of the community.»

The materials to consider in the manufacture of an effective mask are polypropylene, cotton fabrics and polyester,, and cellulose and silk as the last alternatives.

Water-repellent Popelin - 65% polyester/ 35% cotton

The expert of the Department of Health Emergencies of the WHO, April Beller has explained:

«the ideal is to combine fabrics and the mask must has three layers, using the most absorbent material (for example, cotton) closer to the mouth, which will make the saliva droplets stay there if coughing. Outside should go the most water-repellent material, such as polyester, while polypropylenepolypropylene, which is the material used in surgical masks, could be used as a filter (in the middle). »
